IRS Tax Problem Resolution
Back taxes, audits, liens, and levies — our licensed CPAs resolve IRS problems and protect your finances.

Dealing with the IRS is stressful. Whether you've received a notice, owe back taxes, or are facing an audit, the worst thing you can do is ignore it. At Taxperts, our tax resolution specialists step in as your advocate and handle the IRS on your behalf.
We work directly with the IRS to negotiate the best possible outcome — whether that's penalty abatement, an installment agreement, an offer in compromise, or innocent spouse relief. Our team includes licensed CPAs and Enrolled Agents authorized to represent you before the IRS.
Our tax resolution services cover IRS audit representation, back tax filing and compliance, penalty and interest abatement, installment agreement negotiation, offer in compromise evaluation, lien and levy release, and wage garnishment resolution.
Every case starts with a free consultation where we assess your situation, explain your options in plain English, and recommend a path forward.

Yes — through an Offer in Compromise (OIC), the IRS will accept less than the full amount if you can demonstrate that paying in full would create economic hardship or that there's doubt about the collectibility of the full amount. OIC acceptance rates vary — we evaluate your finances honestly before applying and only submit offers we believe are viable.
The IRS may remove penalties if you have a "reasonable cause" for non-compliance (serious illness, natural disaster, bad professional advice) or if you qualify for first-time abatement (FTA) — which requires being otherwise compliant for the prior 3 years. FTA is available once per taxpayer and can eliminate substantial penalties. We request abatement for every eligible client.
File them as soon as possible. The IRS can file "substitute for return" (SFR) assessments on your behalf using the most unfavorable filing status and deductions — usually resulting in a larger bill than if you filed correctly. Getting compliant and in a payment arrangement is always better than waiting. We handle multi-year unfiled returns regularly.
It depends on the resolution path. Installment agreements can be set up in weeks. Offers in Compromise take 6–12 months on average. Audits vary by complexity. We set realistic timelines upfront and keep you informed throughout.
The IRS must follow a process before levying — they send multiple notices over months. If you've received a Final Notice of Intent to Levy, you have 30 days to request a Collection Due Process hearing — which pauses collections. Contact us immediately if you've received this notice. We can intervene even at this late stage.
